After an extremely poor first half, the Balmain players responded well after half time. Despite the game being over on the scoreboard, it was a solid performance in the second half against an excellent side in North Shore. Our more experienced players stood up and became more involved in the game, and our defenders continued to compete all day. Some of our younger players also chased and tackled hard and showed they are willing to do the small things which will help them progress to being solid senior players.

Balmain needs to show the spirit they displayed in the second half every week going forward if we wish to be competitive in this competition. With some players returning from injury in the next few weeks, and a continued positive vibe around the club, hopefully we can begin slowly bridging the gap between ourselves and the rest of the competition.
