NSWACT AFL are committed to increasing the involvement and participation of females within AFL at all levels in NSW and ACT.
Balmain Dockers Women's AFL Club are interested in developing and promoting women's football in Sydney by encouraging juniors who are no longer eligible (due to age restrictions) to play in women's teams across Sydney.
Balmain Dockers Women's AFL Club in 2012 will merge with the Balmain Dockers Football Club which is a real positive step for the development of women's AFL. Currently Balmain Dockers women train at Jubilee Oval on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 8:15pm. Games are played on mainly Saturdays across Sydney.
In 2012, the women's AFL competition will come under Sydney AFL and is growing with professionalism and participation each year. Women's AFL has been played in Sydney for the past eleven years.
Balmain Dockers Women welcome all levels of skill, age and experience. I encourage you to pass this email on to your junior teams and girls who you believe would be suitable to play for the Dockers in 2012. We do not wish to deprive the girls of their junior footy experience by sourcing young players but more so looking towards those who are ineligible to play due to age and creating a pathway for those wishing to continue playing AFL.
